For our brochure assignment, we had to use the information provided to us by a registered nurse and turn it into an informative, professional, and baby-friendly design. The trickiest part of this assignment was remembering that the brochure was double-sided as well as trying to remember which side was the front and which side was the back. Once I got that part figured out, it was all smooth sailing from there.
I knew I wanted a gender-neutral color palette for both the babies' and parents' sake. I did not want fathers-to-be walking by my brochure because it was pink and frilly. As a result, I went with a muted, soft olive green.
The nurse gave us a lot of information to use and while it was all important, I knew that most people walking by and picking it up would not read all of it. So I only used the absolute most important information and decided to include the inspirational quote she provided because it meant something to her and included a personal touch to the brochure. In the end, I feel as though the brochure is a good combination of design and information.
