The data visualization project was tricky for me because I had no idea what I wanted to do at all. When I finally decided on the Starbucks idea, I was immediately intimidated by all of the choices; apparently there are around 1,800 different drink combinations!
My first attempt was a flowchart design and it ended badly. There were so many choices that the chart ended up off of the page and was just too complicated. Then I decided to show a flowchart for just one drink, but I decided to use coffee beans as the lines which I was told looked like a trail of poop so, obviously, I nixed that idea.
My final idea was to get a chalkboard background and put all of the choices in the correct ordering order and circle all of the choices needed to make my Starbucks drink.
